UHSDR est une abbreviation pour Universal Ham Software Defined Radio.

Le projet UHSDR contient un programme d'amorçage (“boot loader”) et un “firmware” (application) pour un transceiver hamradio SDR autonome. Il n'y a pas besoin d'un PC supplémentaire pour la fontion SDR. Pour l'instant UHSDR fonctionne avec les microcontrôleurs STM32F4, STM32F7 et STM32H7 de ST-Micro avec des radios SDR basés sur QSD. Le firmware permet la réception et la transmission utilisant les modes d'opération habituels (SSB, FM, AM, AM synchrone) ainsi que des modes d'opération numériques avancés tels que FreeDV, RTTY, BPSK et bien sûr CW (avec keyer Iambic / Ultimatic Keyer et réception binaural CW). L'interface CAT USB et l'interface audio USB sont également prises en charge. Le programme d'amorçage UHSDR permet une mise à jour facile du firmware et du programme d'amorçage lui-même avec soit une clé USB ou un câble USB.

Le firmware a été initialement développé par Chris, M0NKA, et Clint, KA7OEI dans le cadre du projet mcHF. Chris et Clint ont convenu en février 2017 de mettre le firmware existant sous GNU GPL V3. Ce micrologiciel original continue d'être pris en charge par Chris. Le firmware amélioré développé depuis a reçu le nouveau nom de projet “UHSDR”.

Depuis lors, le firmware UHSDR évolue et s'améliore constamment. UHSDR prend toujours en charge le matériel mcHF d'origine et continuera à le faire. UHSDR prend en charge d'autres émetteurs-récepteurs SDR autonomes. Le but du projet UHSDR est de soutenir la mcHF et d'autres émetteurs-récepteurs de ce type tant que des contributeurs sont disposés à soutenir ces plateformes.

UHSDR est un chargeur de démarrage très intéressant et une alternative de firmware pour le mcHF.

Le projet UHSDR fournit à la fois des versions logicielles stables ainsi que des builds de développement quotidien «à la pointe de la technologie». Toutes les versions du logiciel depuis le 19 août 2017 ont été archivées et peuvent être consultées sur ici depuis Github.

The UHSDR project consists of boot loader and firmware (application) for stand-alone SDR hamradio transceivers. There is no need for an additional PC to operate the SDR radio. At this moment UHSDR supports the ST-Micro processors STM32F4, STM32F7 und STM32H7 MCUs with SDRs based on the QSD design. The firmware enables reception and transmission of the usual operating modes (SSB, FM, AM, synchronous-AM) as well as digital operating modes such as FreeDV, RTTY, BPSK and of course CW (that includes a Iambic/Ultimatic Keyer and bin-aural CW-reception). USB CAT-interface and USB audio-interface are also supported.
The UHSDR boot loader enables easy firmware- and boot loader upgrade via USB-stick or USB cable.

The firmware was originally developped by Chris, M0NKA, and Clint, KA7OEI as part of the mcHF project . Chris and Clint agreed in February 2017 to put the then existing firmware under GNU GPL V3. This original firmware is continued to be supported by Chris. The enhanced firmware developped since has been given the new project name “UHSDR”.

Since then the UHSDR firmware is constantly evolving and improving. UHSDR still supports the original mcHF hardware and will continue to do so. UHSDR supports other standalone SDR transceivers.

It is the aim of the UHSDR project to support the mcHF and other such transceivers as long as there are contributors willing to support those platforms.

UHSDR is a very interesting boot loader and firmware alternative for the mcHF.

The UHSDR project provides both stable software versions as well as “bleeding edge” daily development builds. Alle software versions since August 19, 2017 have been archived and can be accessed here from Github.
