Hi,
re Case: I use a combination of both metal case (from the original mcHF metal case group production here in this forum many years ago, no longer available) and a 3d printed front plate for the OVI40 UI. I think this is a valid construction style, as the front doesn't get exposed to heat.
I could share the front model here (in OpenSCAD). But be aware, that I don't own any regular OVI40 v1.8. I have an v1.5 and a v1.7 PCB based OVI40 UI which have minor differences compared to the final v1.8 (a missing 6th menu button) and subtle changes in the positioning of some of the components based on the early prototypes feedback. So it would not be usable as is, it needs some simple modifications. And in its original form it fits only the case I own. Before anyone asks: I would not assist in any modification attempt.
