Hello Andreas,

I'm trying to bring a OVI40 V1.7 board back to live again. Its runs stand alone 5V on pin 28. It boots but get
the WM8731 error message at boot up. The I2C connections seem to be OK. I do however measure 2.5 volts on pin 27
P1 (UI-3V soft)is floating (RF board is not connected). So worst case : I've blown up the codecs one way or the other. ??? :'( . Could you think of something else.

Regards

Co

Hi Co,

first you need to test if analog & digital 3.3V supply for the codecs is present (on BOTH codecs).
Second you have to test if SDA and SCL from both codecs are connected to the correspondent MCU pin and nothing else
Third you an chekc for bad solderings at codecs.

For testing you can connect a scope to SDA and SCL and check if there is "life" when powering up UI PCB for a small time. Amplitude must reach 0V/3.3V.

Good luck - feedback if you have fixed it is welcome :D!

vy 73 - stay healthy
Andreas
