Everything OK:ed in DFSe after bootloader installation. But still white screen...
Should the screen still be white here and I should proceed with firmware?
My screen were white after BL install But I tried FW install anyway. Still white screen. But red LED lights up after firmware installation. But not again after reboot.
Ideas?

Ulf,
an easy way to test the boot loader is:
- press "B+" switch button, keep pressed
- apply power to uI board (keep "B+" pressed)
- after some seconds ayellow text should appear on display (keep "B+" pressed)
- remove power from UI board
- release "b+" key

I discovered that I have a crack in the screen so this could be one reason for a white screen. I obviously need a new screen. Meanwhile, is there anything else I can do to confirm function without the screen?
- Voltages are OK
- Current drawn is 60-90 mA with an average of 70-80 mA.
- Bootloader installation OK:ed by DfuSe

Red LED turns on but green LED not means that no LCD controller is identified but someting "half". If there is absolutely no identification the driver for ILI9486 SPI is used, but your identification seems to hang somewhere during identification process. I do not think that is due to a cracked LCD glass because the controller is still identified in this case. I think there is a connection between MCU and LCD defective (open/short to a neigbourtrack).

OK. So red and green LED should light up *after* successful bootloader install and *before* FW install? (if hardware correct).

Why have'nt you install BOTH bootloader ANDFirmware in "one shot" ??
Download the .dfu File of the actual firmware.
Install first the bootloader with DFuse and directly afterwards flash the .dfu firmware file ALSO with DFuse.
That way you have installed a bootloader AND firmware and have a ready running system.
LED and screen should behave just like normal !

Nonetheless, I have tried this too.
But I will do some more tests this afternoon. And measure connections.

Still no luck.
- checked display cicuits. Checked for short circuits. Removed bridges. But I think they were there on purpose as those pads were connected anyway.
- Resoldered IC102.
Still some doubts about the wiki. Even in English pages. ( I can read german too)
- BL installation is supposed to be done with P6 closed. OK.
- FW doesn't mention if P6 should be open or clsed. However, Peter earlier in this thread recommended to do BL and FW in consecutive order, which I intrepret as P6 should be closed in both processes.
- Wiki unclear if FW should be done with upLOAD or upGRADE. But I have discussion in another thread.
Any other suggestions or clarifications?
Still one more ting to do.... use an excato between each leg on the MCU. I will do that now .....

Hallo zusammen
Ich habe ein ähnliches Problem. Mein UI zeigt nur einen weißen Bildschirm. Bootloader ist ok, auch das Flashen scheint ok zu sein. Folgender Ablauf erscheint nach dem Anlegen der 5V.
1. rote LED (D2) geht an; Strom 193mA
2. nach 3 Sekunden geht zusätzlich die grüne LED (D1) an; Strom 251mA
3. nach 20 Sekunden geht die rote LED (D2) aus; Strom sinkt auf 236mA
danach kann ich mit kurzen Betätigen der Power Taste den weißen Bildschirm dimmen (4 Stufen)
Alle Datenleitungen D0 bis D15 habe ich von der MCU bis zum Stecker der LCD-Flachbandleitung durchgemessen. Alle sind vorhanden. Jetzt gehen mir die Ideen aus. Kann es sein, dass das LCD Modul einen Defekt hat. Ich habe leider kein zweites Modul. Wenn ihr einen Lieferant kennt, der nicht 4 Wochen Lieferzeit hat, kann ich mir dort ein Modul schnell bestellen. Aber vielleicht ist ja ein anderer Defekt irgentwo auf der Leiterplatte.
Für Anregeungen bin ich dankbar.

das Durchmessen der Datenleitungen alleine reicht nicht. Du musst auch die Steuersignale prüfen.
Ich gehe mal davon aus, das Du einen OVI40 hast: bei DF8OE anfragen, ob er noch ein Display für Dich hat. Auch bei mcHF kann er Dir möglicherweise helfen (mit einem 3.2 Zoll Display).

Ja, ich habe ein OVI40 mit 3,5´´ Display auf dem Tisch.
Signale konnte ich nicht feststellen. Allein an D0 konnte ich ein Rechtecksignal von ca. 80 mV feststellen. Mehr ist an den Datenleitungen nicht zu messen.
Der 16 MHz Oszillator arbeitet korrekt. Ob der 32 kHz Quarz schwingt kann ich nicht messen, da die kapazitive Belastung durch den Tastkopf zu groß ist. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit innerhalb der Schaltung die Funktion des Quarzes festzustellen?
Durch mehrfaches Aus- und Eingeschaltet des UI hatte dachte ich schon, dass die MCU gehimmelt worden ist. Durch Einsatz mit dem ST-Link Adapter konnte ich die MCU wiederbeleben.
Die MCU auf meinem Board hat die Bezeichnung STM32F765ZIT6 und in der Schaltung hat die MCU die Bezeichnung STM32F767ZIT6. Ich denke, dass der Typ auch ok ist. Die MCU habe ich auch noch einmal nachgelötet.
Ich habe nun wieder den Zustand wie vorher.
Für bin offen für Ideen und Anregungen

war das 3.5" LCD ein "fertiges" von mir? Die sind alle komplett getestet und ok (LCD und Touchfunktion). In dem Fall wäre der Fehler auf dem UI Board zu suchen. Hast Du es selbst zusammengelötet und es hat noch nie funktioniert, kann der Fehler auf dem LCD Board oder auf dem UI Board sein.

schön das Du Dich meldest.
Es war ein kompletter Bausatz. Das LCD-Board habe ich auch gelötet. Ich habe zuerst die vielbeinigen Käfer aufgelötet, dann die anderen SMD´s und zum Schluss die mechanischen Bauteile.
nach jedem Schritt habe ich eine grümdlichen Reinigung mit Isopropanol vorgenommen. Nachdem ich fertig war habe ich zum ersten Mal die 5V angelegt. Das Verhalten war immer das gleiche.
Außer einen Bildschirm habe ich noch nichts gesehen.
Ich habe auch wärend des lötens unter einer Leuchtlupe die Lötstellen mit einer Uhrmacherlupe überprüft. Beim 16 MHz Quarz ist mir ein Fehler aufgefallen. Sonst war alles immer OK.
Jetzt fehlen mir die Ideen.
Vielleicht hast Du noch den goldenen Tipp.

Ich bin hier Einzelkämpfer. Ich wohne in Gladbeck (nördliches Ruhrgebiet). Ob hier irgendwo noch ein anderer OM ist, der sich auch diesen Transceiver zusammen baut, weis ich nicht.

Dann nehme doch dein Bauprojekt mal mit. Vielleicht triffst du dort jemand, der seinen OV-I40 dabei hat und bereit ist, mal deine Displayplatine bei sich aufzustecken. Andreas hat doch seinen Prototypen dabei, vielleicht ergibt sich ja eine Gelegenheit... ;D
