Title: Verständnisfrage Old School S-Meter
Post by: DL8EBD on 22. October 2017, 18:19:44

Thomas,

I think the "old school" S-meter shows the momentary logical OR function of RF input signal and the RF gain setting. So, if you set this over RF signal level you see only "RF gain" value. I think by saying this this S-meter mode is becoming more and more obsolete. The dBm display works really good.

Hi all,

just dont use the "old school S-meter" any more, it used to produce problems and still does ;-).

Just use the S-meter setting based on dBm, its very accurate and easily understandable, because it does what an S-meter is supposed to do: measure the input signal level. (which the old school S-meter is not able to do) ;-)

I think by now we should just eliminate the old school S-meter from the software.
