Title: firmware update via ST-link v2
Post by: giuliano i0cg on 18. December 2019, 13:09:42

In the newly assembled UI 0.6.3 card I installed the software supplied with the documentation of hardware version 0.6.3 (mchf_0.6.3_img.bin) using a ST-link V2. When the card is turned on it is shown that it is the 2.5.106 version which is from the year 2017. My question is how can I use the same method to load the most recent firmware versions. In practice I am looking for an archive of updated versions that can be loaded via ST-link with just one image file. In the documentation I found some indications regarding the loading via ST-link but require three files and I did not understand where they are stored. To conclude how it is possible to install the firmware via ST-link (P4 connector) via a single file.

Hi Giuliano,

you can find firmware and bootloader binaries for dfu-mode (*.dfu) and STLink-upgrade / USB-memory-stick upgrades (*.bin): here (https://df8oe.github.io/UHSDR/). The recommended way for firmware upgrades is using an USB-memory-stick - that is supported by our bootloader. I suppose firstly you put bootloader an firmware version to the recent ones using STLink and later you upgrade simply and fast using USB-memory key...

ok solved. I loaded the loader with STLINK so I was able to load the latest version via memory stick.
In the previously loaded file the loader was missing

thanks
