Title: ILI9486 Touch Panel Pins
Post by: 14at1309 on 31. May 2019, 14:48:32

Hello everyone

I am not a radio amateur but I practiced radio and electronics in the past and today I am very interested in this project.
I'm currently working on a personal layout from the diagrams but I have an issue with the buttons on the screen panel that do not match the diagram and the datasheet of the ILI9486 screen.

Diagram:
1: XL
2: YD
3: XR
4: YU

Datasheet ILI9486:
1: XL
2: YU
3: XR
4: YD

Can you tell me if it's ok or if an error has slipped?

Thank you.

Hi,

welcome to our discussion group!

Not every LCD using ILI9486 has same pinout! You must clearly describe type of LCD for getting the pinout...

Hello DF89OE and thank you for this quick response.

My problem is that only the pins of the touch panel do not match while all the others are good.

Here is the screen I ordered:

PS: Congratulations on your mini-trx and the best 73's!

My datasheet matches our diagram. But the LCD type is the same as in your link. So I do not know what is correct. But it is not important: swapping of polarity is automatically corrected by UHSD touchscreen calibration...

Well, ok.

Now I will be able to continue my layout because it is a big job that is now well advanced, my ambition is not to use a separate circuit for the display but to put the connector directly on the UI board.
I will give news of my project when everything is checked and I will share my work for those interested.

All my best 73's

Hmmm.....

I like modular designs. They are future-orientated... I will get a 4" LCD these days and will adopt the pinout to our LCD PCB. If you are putting everything on one PCB you always must throw it away if there are some interesting new parts.... OK - the dimensions (height) are smaller.

But I think i IS interesting because of interests spread wide.
