Title: Using HDSDR
Post by: WD8BXS on 18. September 2018, 16:40:45

I have been playing with HDSDR but have some questions.

It seems to work good but I don't understand LO AND TUNE frequencies.

For example, I am listening to a station that is on 7168, as per my 7610, but the Tune freq on HDSDR is 7180, and the LO freq is 7195, the display on the mchf says 7195.

Confusing, I must not have it set up correctly.

Using external IQ-SDR-Software you can tune to any station which is seen on scope/WF. No need to be the same station which you can hear on mcHF. External decoding is possible for any signal in the 48KHz span. Of course you have to do the correct math to see what frequency you are listening to.

If you want to listen to the same station where mcHF is tuned to simply set Xlate identical on mcHF and external program.

settings in hdsdr see picture

i prefer to see upwards from my working channel (reason is most dx stations work upwards when using split) so set rx tx freq xlate to rx + 12 khz
for sync with hdsdr AND also sync with all other soft using cat set cat diq freq xlat to on

when you have all settings correct then hdsdr and mchf show same area and are synced in both directions

tapping on a signal on either screen will qsy to that signal ON BOTH! (remember to set sync in both directions in hdsdr)

in your case you may have set omnirig driver to rig 1 (i also use omnirig with another trx and so i use trx2 setting in omnirig)

feel free to drop me a line if you still have questions about cat settings, sync with hdsdr, sync with clustersoft/logbook etc.)

I'm really struggling to understand this....
With HDSDR set to +12000 and mchf set to -12000 I hear the same station when mchf readout is the same as Tune in HDSDR. LO is 12KHz below tune...
This should not be the case when googling this or following the above picture...
CAT-DIQ-FREQ-XLAT is set to on.

Sorry, my comprehension is somewhat unadjusted here...
