Prüft bitte mal nach, ob bei eurem OVI40 mit 3.5" LCD in den Magniy-Modes > 1 Wasserfall und Scope einwandfrei funktionieren. Bei mir tun sie das nämlich schon geraume Zeit nicht mehr. Es kann aber durchaus sein, dass das mit meinem OVI40-RF-Board zusammenhängt. Also an alle die das Board mit einem mcHF-RF-Board betreiben: bitte mal ausprobieren und berichten.

Bei meinem RF-Board haben die Magnify-Modes größer 1 nur einen schwarzen bereich gebracht. Also Frequenzruler da, Empfang geht auch, aber der Bereich, wo man einen Wasserfall oder ein Spektrum sehen sollte, ist pechschwarz.
Das war schon immer so. Ich nutze den Dual Modus und habe den Scope-Size auf "Normal".

Ich fall vom Glauben ab.
Die letzte Firmware (die mit dem unified LCD driver) hatte ich noch nicht probiert - und damit geht es. Es WAR also ein Firmwareproblem...

Keine Ahnung. Wäre auf jeden Fall sehr seltsam, weil die Gewinnung der Daten für Audio und für das LCD aus dem gleichen Datenstrom kommt (I2S vom Codec). Also entweder geht oder geht nicht. Wird also auch bei der mcHF-RF vorhanden gewesen sein.

Also ich habe gerade eben die latest 2.7.74 geflasht und da ist definiv ein Fehler im Dual Mode !
Dort verschwindet das Spektrum im oberen Balken :(
Rein Spektrum und rein Waterfall sind fehlerfrei.
Zur Kontrolle ne ältere 6x geflasht. Da ist es der Dual Mode fehlerfrei.
Gelöst ist es bei mir jedenfalls beim Dual Mode nicht. Es sei den ich nutze eine alte Version.

Andreas, läuft bei mir fehlerfrei in jeder Magnify Stufe!
Die Daily von Heute ebenfalls fehlerfrei...

Also bei mir geht alles vor der 74 nicht - nur zwei schwarze Areale. Mit der 74 geht es wie es sein soll.
Und der Dual Mode geht und ging schon immer.

Andreas, das muss irgendwas mit Deiner Hardware zu tun haben.
Ich habe gerade nochmal die D2.7.72 aufgespielt und alle Kombinationen und sogar "Spectrum Size non BIG" ausprobiert.

Bei mir funktioniert das auch einwandfrei. Die Anzeigen lassen sich durch Konfiguration nach unten/oben verschieben.

Sorry, da muss ich jetzt mal doof nachfragen WO das zu machen ist ?
Vermutlich unter "Display Settings" nehme ich an ?!
Hätte jetzt gedacht das da ein adäquater Wert der Vorgänger Versionen übernommen wird der ein Nachjustieren erstmal nicht erforderlich macht aber ich pass das natürlich gerne an wenns denn wirklich daran liegt ?!
Was wäre denn da ein gängiger Wert ?

Hi Peter,
just simply press and hold the frequency ruler, next you will be able to set its new position. After this do not forget to save to eeprom (long press MENU).
There is no menu item regarding this setting (yet). |

Everything is fine with the 3.5" display now and i made some further tests with the same firmware under the 3.2" display.
Here it seems that there is still an error in the spectrum display together with magnifying.
Dial screen and positionig works fine as well as waterfall.
But if you go to spectrum display only its fine as long as you stay into magnify 1.
Immediately if you choose a magnify number grater than 1 the spectrum display vanishes slowly under the frequency bar but never comes up.
That happens in all stages from 2 to 32.
When you go back to 1 everything is fine. Spectrum comes back overloaded but regulates itself into fitting the screen.
I tried to reproduce that on th 3.5" and on a classical mcHF with 2.8" but here behaviour is fine.
Looks like only the 3.2" display is affected by this.

I have had the same behaviour from ~ middle of December until 2.7.73 at my OVI40 @480x320. Only magnify x 1 does work - on all other modes there was only a "black area" (That's why I started this thread). Using 320x240 LCD everything was fine before and is fine now. Since 2.7.74 everything is fine here with 480x320 - nothing changed for 320x240. It seems that nobody except me have had this issue. And my small LCD works fine - I assume nobody except you will have your issue (which sounds like my old one - but for the small LCD).
It looks that there is something very, very strange sleeping somewhere in the deep which is not reliable reproduceable at all.
EDIT:
After I see the photos: exactly that was the behaviour of my OVI40 before 2.7.74.
EDITEDIT:
And it is impossible that there is a difference between 2.8" and 3.2".

I have 2.7.74 running on the 3.2" box as well. The only thing i haven't done so far on that UI is changing the bootloader to the latest and greatest but i guess this is without any influence on the above behaviour.
I will now do it, just to be sure... |

What is strange... I just switched the box off with magnify left on 2 and then back on and...things work !
Now magnify 2 and above work without any error. Sounds funny but it looks like the old German "AEG" (Auschalten, Einschalten, Geht !) solved the issue.
It is not reproducable anymore. Tried that 5 times.
(Bootloader not updated so far)

Maybe I have solved my issue which sounds identical but for big LCD same way. No way to check it out because issue is gone.

just a guess:
sd.magnify is uint8_t and old_magnify in UiSpectrum_UpdateSpectrumPixelParameters is uint16_t ?
and force_update will never become false in that function
But I may be totally on the wrong track . . .
